Chef De Partie

Wellington is on the lookout for a talented and motivated Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of your own section, confidently managing both preparation and service to ensure every dish is delivered to a consistently high standard.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs, you’ll play a key part in maintaining quality, controlling food costs, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. You’ll also support and guide junior team members, helping to build a strong, collaborative team culture.
What you’ll be doing:
Running your own section during prep and service
Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes
Managing stock, prep levels, and minimising waste
Supporting food cost control and kitchen efficiency
Assisting with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
Maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness
What we’re looking for:
At least 2 years’ experience in a similar Chef de Partie role
NCEA Level 4 qualification in cookery (or equivalent)
Strong organisational and time management skills
Confidence running a section in a fast-paced environment
A positive attitude and strong team mindset
Passion for food and continuous improvement
